webOS guide: apps, store and updates on your Smart TV

How to get the most out of webOS on Sinudyne Smart TVs: navigating the interface, installing and managing apps from the LG Content Store, running system updates.

webOS home screen on a Smart TV in a modern living room

webOS is the operating system on every Sinudyne Smart TV: lightweight, fast, and built so you can turn the TV on and start watching right away. This guide covers the interface, managing apps from the LG Content Store, and keeping the system up to date.

What is webOS and why Sinudyne chose it

webOS is the Smart TV operating system originally developed by LG and now licensed to other manufacturers. Sinudyne ships webOS by LG, the same platform used on high-end LG TVs.

Why we chose it:

  • smooth interface even on mid-tier hardware;
  • main apps preinstalled (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube);
  • pointer remote that's easy for everyone;
  • multi-year update support.

For a full comparison, see webOS, Android TV or Google TV: which to choose.

The interface

When you turn on a webOS Smart TV, the home screen shows:

  • an app bar at the bottom with your favourite apps;
  • shortcuts to recent content and live channels;
  • a recommendations row from your installed platforms;
  • quick access to HDMI inputs and connected devices.

Press Home on the remote to return here at any time. Drag apps in the bar to put the ones you use most up front.

LG Content Store: installing and managing apps

The LG Content Store is the app store built into webOS. To open it:

  1. press Home on the remote;
  2. scroll to the LG Content Store icon;
  3. open it and use the magnifier at the top right to search by name.

Select an app and press Install: it will appear in the home app bar automatically.

Preinstalled apps on Sinudyne Smart TVs

Most models ship ready with:

  • Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+;
  • YouTube;
  • DAZN, Sky, NOW;
  • main local streaming services;
  • Spotify and other music apps.

Just open the app and sign in with your account.

Removing or moving an app

Highlight the app icon and hold OK (or press up, depending on the model). A menu appears with Move and Delete options. System apps can't be uninstalled; the rest can.

Account and profiles

You'll need a free LG account to use the LG Content Store. Create one:

  • on the TV at first setup or in Settings → Account;
  • on a computer at the LG website.

Each streaming app (Netflix, Prime, etc.) has its own separate account stored on the TV, so you don't need to re-enter passwords each time.

Updating webOS

Software updates bring new features, stability fixes and security patches. The TV usually downloads and installs them automatically, but you can check manually:

  1. open Settings;
  2. choose All Settings;
  3. go to Support → Software Update;
  4. press Check for Updates.

If a new version is available the TV downloads it and installs at reboot. Keep the TV connected to the network (Wi‑Fi or ethernet) for automatic updates.

Tip

Enable Auto Update under Software Update so the TV checks overnight on its own.

Handy connections: Bluetooth, Screen Share and inputs

webOS makes it easy to pair other devices:

Find everything under Settings → Connection.

Quick troubleshooting

  • App won't open? Hold OK on its icon, choose Close, then relaunch.
  • Store won't load? Check your connection in Settings → Network.
  • TV feels slow? Restart from Settings → General → Reset/Restart (or unplug for 30 seconds).
  • Forgot your LG password? Recover it from the LG account site.

In short

webOS is designed to be invisible: you learn it in minutes, it handles the main apps with no setup, and it updates itself. On your Sinudyne Smart TV all you need to do is connect to the internet, sign into your streaming accounts, and start watching.
